High-speed data acquisition system is more and more universal in various filds ofinformation science. Now acquisition technology based on the microcontroller andARM has been very mature. However, in contemporary society, with more and moredemanding requirements for speed, these technologies have become bloated, we mustdevelop new higher-speed data acquisition system to keep up with the developmentpace of information industry, and with the rapid development of programmable logicdevice, it has been widely used in various fields of information science because of itsfeatures of high level of integration, stable performance, high speed and ease to use,This design is based on these features, combined with the theory of data acquisition,programmable logic devices, analog-digital conversion and digital filtering, and read a alot of literature, we propose a design idea of high-speed data acquisition system basedon programmable logic device, and proceeded to practice.We selected the EPM2210chip as a control chip, it belongs to the ALTERA’sMAX II series, and choosen ADS805and TLV1570as digital converter sampling chip,and according to the respective datasheets, we designed the peripheral circuit of eachmodule, draw the diagram and eventually we integrated all schematics of each module,build the high-speed data acquisition system based on CPLD, then draw the overallsystem PCB board, product the circuit board, and writed programs to drive the chips ofADC, processed the collected data and complete the communication of computer andthe CPLD, we completed the design of high-speed data acquisition system base onCPLD successfully, the system could capture real-time current and voltage values.In this paper, we debug and simulate all of the CPLD modules inculding filtering,RMS calculations, communicate with PC and the VFD display module, and givenwaveforms of simulation through the software of Modelsim, obtained the correct resultsand then build the hardware test platform to test this data acquisition system, and toprove its accuracy and stability features. The result shows that the data acquisitionsystem could fully collected the voltage and current values in real time, could dofiltering and RMS calculation, and could communicate with the host computeraccurately.And the speed and stability are achieved the design goals, it coult applied inthe actual laboratory projicts. The system of data acquisition achieved the laboratoryproject requirements successfully.
