Based On Data Warehouse Decision Support System Technology And Implementation

Decision Support System(DSS) ,as a new phase of MIS, has the ability of data processing and amount calculating, and it comes to the higher level of assisting managers in decision making.With the development of Database Technology, the technology of data warehouse has come into being and many computer-related technologies have more development such as Network Technology and Artificial Intelligence etc. For DSS has many different styles to satisfy different requests of managers , it becomes the main technology application in modern corporations. With the increasing information in enterprise, synthetic decision support system based on the technology of data warehouse is the better solution in assaying the data effectively and assisting senior managers in analysis and decision with high efficiency.As a management information system, G-EngineTM for Finance developed by Shanghai LandSats Software Co.,Ltd is provided for perfect functions and G-Engine?is its terrace of core technology. That system has combined the data processing with fledged applied mode and it can help managers in corporations to analyse and predict the data of finance. In a sense, it makes the financial management efficient and accurate. Many conceptions of data-management about data warehouse is applied.Combined with that project, this dissertation includes contents as follows:(1) Introducing the concept of Decision Support System, its principle and framework , and its nowadays conditions and the prospect.(2) Discussing the basic knowledge about the data warehouse, including its generation, the technology of achievement and the process flow.(3) Discussing the technology-OLAP in the structure of data warehouse.(4) Providing the decision project about G-Engine?for Finance, including: the background of the system, the target ,the request and the structure. Moreover, the assay of systemic function, the circumstances of system and the systemic frame are all explained.(5) Offering emphatic discussion on the application of the data warehouse in decision support system. It involved the creation of the data warehouse, the extraction of data, the achievement of OLAP, and in particular it explains the model base and method base in the system.As a member of the project group, I have participated the decision and the achievement about Decision Support System. Because of the time and the fund, the system couldn't complete all parts. Therefore detailed supplemental decision is expounded in the dissertation.All discussed in the dissertation about the general data framework of the double-layer data warehouse, in fact, has achieved a micro-data warehouse. Applying this project to Decision Support System, we have fulfilled the request of actual decision in the corporations. It also enjoys the advantages of low risk, short developmental cycle and the concise maintenance etc.
