Decision Support Technology Research And Application Of Data Warehouse

DSS(Decision Support System) is a new branch of MLS(Management Information System), which embodies the ultimate objective of MIS and is also the highest level of development of MIS. A scheme of DSS based on DW is mainly studied in this paper. This paper systematically introduces the definition of DW, the character different from the traditional database. its development and framework. Based on the relation above, this paper puts forward the theory how to combine DW into DSS, and gives an example that applies DW into DSS of power service management, through this example, A scheme of DSS based on DW is given, and this paper discusses designing methods and procedures of DW, data analysis which is complemented by OLAP(On Line Analytical Processing) and DM(Data Mining). This paper puts forward a scheme of DSS in power service management based on DW and proves the necessity and feasibility of this scheme.
