From Information Technology itself and with the development of Information Science, more and more clearly it has shown that only technology cannot deal with the problem of how people understand and use of information completely. Information Science is a subject with dense humanities and literae character. All kinds of inherent humanities factors during information process, including the creation of information object with cognitive condition as medium, the judgements and tokens for pertinence and theme and so on, decide the Held of information study to turn to more open intelligent process, including human's cognitive process and information behavior. This paper introduces the history background of Information Science with cognition in the first part, and in the second and third part author enumerates classical theory of Information Science with cognition in detail, such as Brookes' cognition for Information Science, Belkin's ASK Theory, Dervin's Sense-making Theory, and the relevant research of P.Ingwersen and B.Hjorland, and evaluates the cognition for Information Science, for example, the research focus of cognition of Information Science be human, and cognition for Information Science attach important to the research of user's cognitive simulation.Knowledge is the essential attribute of information, and also it is human's cognitive summing-up to practice experience and objective world. So in the forth part this paper discusses the essence of knowledge from the visual angle of cognition, and the status and function of objective knowledge in cognition of human, and the problem of knowledge systematization. The analysis study of Information Science from the visual angle of cognition can bring us some revelations and inspire spark of thought. The fifth part introduces in detail some new thought that cognition of Information Science brings us. For example, the relation from theory, metatheory and philosophy, the change of paradigm in Information Science research, the relation between cognition for Information Science and information-seeking behavior, the focus of cognition for Information Science be the problem of knowledge configuration, the relation between cognition for Information Science and Information Research. At last, author further discusses the modification for Brookes' equation. The sixth part summarizes the influence of cognitive towards Information Science. Firstly, cognition can integrate the relevant fields of Information Science, so it can provide system configuration in order to form unitive and effective Information Science. Secondly, the core conception of cognitive towards Information Science is "human as essence", and bring forward that the Information System is one that can boost up and magnify the existence value, ability and specialty of 'human', and provide users a system which is active and unforced, rather than force users to arduously adapt system. Thirdly, from the visual angle of cognitive, information-seeking or information-using is a kind of cognitive behavior in essence. Fourthly, cognitive style is the development trend of future Information Retrieve System, it can reveal the thinking-process of users during retrieving on-line, in order to help users to develop their knowledge configuration. Fifthly, the evolution of knowledge has close relation with cognitive action, in fact the absorption, assimilation, choice, construction of human's knowledge configuration to outward information, the process of realizing socialization are knowledge evolution. The sixth, the knowledge construction become the focus of cognition of Information Science research. At last, the paper indicates that the shortage of society-dimensionality is the limitation of cognition of Information Science.
