Library and information science(LIS) has distinctive characteristics of interdisciplinary, in the process of knowledge production, accumulation and development, LIS is not only refer and transplant theory, methodology, academic ideas and practice from other disciplines, but also output theory, method and technology to influence other disciplines. This kind of knowledge exchange and transfer across the discipline boundaries are the requirements of operation and development, and the inevitable choice for the continuous transformation and innovation of disciplines to enhance the academic competitiveness and the discipline influence. In this dissertation, the author uses the multidisciplinary theory from the LIS, management science, education science, applies the methods of literature research, deductive reasoning, literature metrology, multivariate statistical analysis, combining the questionnaire survey method, to reveal the status, characteristics, effects and influence elements and dynamic mechanism of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer of LIS in China. The main body of the dissertation consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction. Including the background and significance of the topic, research status and review, research objectives, content and research methods, the main contribution of the dissertation. This part forms the basis for the entire study.The second part is theoretical research.Chapter 1 clarifies the basic concepts as well as interdisciplinary research, knowledge transfer and interdisciplinary knowledge transfer. On the base of the research about the relationship between interdisciplinary research and knowledge transfer, puts forward that there are something in common in terms of direction, purpose and essential factors, knowledge transfer theories can be regarded as the theoretical basis and tool of interdisciplinary research.Then the interdisciplinary knowledge transfer is defined. The process includes two aspects of knowledge reception and knowledge transmission. This chapter lays out the logical basis for the following.Chapter 2 sets up the theoretical basis of this study. With the knowledge transfer theory as the guide, the theories of triangle of change, co-competition and MOA framework as foundations, theoretical basis of this dissertation is formed. Knowledge transfer theory is the guiding theory and the starting point, providing the basic framework for the study of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer; the theories of triangle of change reflects three perspectives, namely external attention, system implementation and internal force; co-competition theory reflects the competition and beneficial relationship and mutually between LIS and related disciplines. MOA framework theory provides a specific path to investigate influence factors of interdisciplinary knowledge transfe in Library and Information Science.The third part is the empirical research. Among them, the third chapter and the fourth chapter describe the interdisciplinary knowledge transfer of LIS from the discipline organization level. The fifth chapter analyzes the knowledge transfer of LIS from the individual level.Chapter 3, the current situation and characteristics of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer in LIS in China. Interdisciplinary citation is an important form of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer, using the citation analysis. The author explores interdisciplinary subjects of library information and its influence degree from the perspective of knowledge reception and transmission, reveals the characteristics from the aspects of the transfer scale, the transfer distribution, the transfer subjects and the transfer situation. Research shows (1) The scale of interdisciplinary knowledge receiving and knowledge transmission has been realized to leap forward and the interdisciplinary research is becoming more and more active. (2)The non-equilibrium characteristics of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer is obvious. And the phenomenon of highly divergent and highly aggregated coexists. (3) Interdisciplinary transfer is characterized two-way mutual benefit, mainly occurring in the neighboring disciplines, namely soft-applied science in the field of social science, technology and application are demanded and radiated strongly.(4) There are three external motive factors of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer:knowledge distance, information technology and network technology development, and social demand.Chapter 4, the effect of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer in LIS in China, this chapter focuses on the analysis of the effect of knowledge introduction. The author takes the papers indexed in Library and information science journals included by CSSCI database continuously since establishment as the research object, uses the methods of cluster analysis and multidimensional scaling analysis combined with case analysis to reveal the LIS research topic and research method diversified through the theory and method transplantation.Chapter 5, the identification of the influence factors of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer in Chinese LIS. Based on the study of individual as the knowledge receiver, the author introduces MOA (motive-opportunity-ability) framework, puts forward relevant assumptions, and develops the questionnaire for empirical research. The results show that the framework of MOA theory applicable to the interdisciplinary knowledge transfer. Besides interest motivation, the factors of three dimensions of motivation, opportunity and ability have positive correlation with interdisciplinary knowledge transfer behavior, and interdisciplinary knowledge transfer behavior is mainly influenced by the factors of learning tendency, interaction ability and knowledge transfer organization. Empirical research provides a realistic basis for the construction of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer promotion mechanism.The fourth part is the application research. How to promote interdisciplinary knowledge transfer is the foothold of the research. For the external dynamic elements of organization level, it is very important to pay attention to and study the overall development plan of the discipline from the strategic perspectives; For the internal dynamic factors of individual level, how to stimulate the motivation, enhance the ability and create opportunities is urgent. The author proposes to improve the discipline openness continuously, to construct and perfect the incentive mechanism and exchange mechanism of knowledge transfer, and to create interdisciplinary research atmosphere.The fifth part is the summary and prospect of the research. On the basis of limitation, the author puts forward the prospects for the next step study.Under the guidance of multi-disciplinary theory, this study aims to reveal the status, characteristics and effect of LIS interdisciplinary knowledge transfer, explore the internal and external driving factors and their action principle and effect of knowledge transfer. Then the promotion mechanism of interdisciplinary knowledge transfer was constructed by stimulating motivation, enhancing ability and creating opportunity. This study has certain theoretical and practical significance to promote the interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and development of LIS in China.
