China Digital Library Development Strategy Study

The development of computer, multinedium, Internet, as well as digjtalized technology in 1990's periods material bases and technical conditions for digital library. Digital Library is a new pioneering work with new technologies being used in library after the computer technology. Digital Library is the inevitable outcome of developing information technology, as well as the inevitable choice of information society. As a new library developing idea, we must do a lot of theory researching and technology practicing.The paper introduces the development course and the main projects of digital library in China and other countries, discusses four basical theory problems of digital library projects of China: the definition of digital library, the developing degree of digital library, the constractors of digital library and the developing model of digital library.
