The relation between media and culture is inseparable in reality life. Media culture affects people抯 thought~ action and value more deeply. This affection is developing in larger scale and quicker speed. Thoroughly probing into media and culture and questions concerned media culture has great importance in reality. This thesis can be divided into five parts. The first part mainly probes into the relation among culture symbol and media in communicating which mainly being language symbol, second being non-language symbol created by mankind. But wattmeter the language or non-language symbols, their essence is cultural. Media is a kind of symbol having special meaning. Therefore, medium is also a kind of culture. As a kind of culture, medium has two implications: one embodies subject factors such as people抯 value conception anesthetic delight, the other is people抯 system culture comprised by varieties of systems laws and regulations and principles. Emphasizing the cultural meanings of medium itself can impel us to tap the cultural value lying behind the medium itself and to give full play to the efficiency of medium. 3 This part also expounds the way medium affect culture empathetically. First, medium is a propeller in the course of the culture抯 development, its development course is also the course of culture抯 development. Media provide prerequisite for the development of culture, too. What抯 more, mass media can enhance or reduce the state of culture; second, mass media are U multi-prisms in communicating culture. The initial meaning of a message is inevitable to increase decrease transform or be misunderstood in receivers?minds after the media抯 multi- refraction. The second part probes into the characteristic of the media culture. Mass media culture is a kind of culture system based on mass media and symbolized by TV broadcasting and newspaper. Its main characteristic is to report facts timely and accurately. Second, mass media culture has characteristic such as popularity utility copyablity. Last, it researches and discusses the positive and negative effect of media culture. The third part studies the net and the net culture that is changing with each passing day. It holds that the rapid development of the net is bound to bring about the, revolution of communicating tools, and that the traditional mass media 4 (broadcasting TV newspaper and so on) are inevitable to be employers of the internet. The net culture formed gradually with the rapid development of the internet are manifesting its unique charm. Being mankind抯 creator in 20th century, the net culture is based on computer technology and communication technology, and is centering on transmitting and receiving message. It is making mankind think the value~ life way~ associating way.. thinking way profoundly. Compared with traditional media culture, it has characteristics such as plurality powerful permeation and boundless extension in time and space. Meanwhile, as a kind of culture with powerful influence, it is flooding through the society rapidly, but it always is a branch of mankind抯 culture, which is not inevitable and possible to replace other culture...
