Based on the Baudrillard 's consumption culture.theory, this paper studied the emerge and characteristic of star's reality show. and studied the progress and short comings of the star reality show under the huge consumption culture environment through analysing many typical star reality show cases. One of the important concepts of Baudrillard's consumption culture theory is symbol consumption, which means the consumers consume the product itself as well as the meaning, temper, beauty,decency,sentiment and atmosphere that a product symbolizes and represents. It's a kind of consumption of 'meaning' and 'connotation' that these symbols represent. And this consumption can be aware at any corner in today's society. Just like celebrity reality shows are easier to draw people's attention compared with civilian reality shows. It's becausethat celebrity identity can represent more values than civilian identity. Both a dvertisers and viewers are able to see more symbolic values on stars.Through adopting documents analysis and case studies as the main research methods. This article stated the China's star's Reality shows and the concept of consumer culture. it also combed and introduced the rise and development of China's star's Reality shows, and outlined the motivation of the existence and development of the star's Reality shows in the era of consumption culture background.The article illustrated the characteristics of consumer culture among stars reality TV shows in detail based on several typical celebrity reality show. Lastly, the article pointed out the adversity and outlet of reality shows program during the cultural times.In the process of case-study and theory-research, it has value criticism and introspection about star's reality shows program. Also, the paper suggested that we should enhance the dimension,establish the accurate guide, strengthen creativity and develop the mode of this reality shows program to strive for making a complete...
