Most measuring and test projects need us to design software to support measuring system, testing equipment and various kinds of hardware. The main functions of this kind of software are to collect and process data, and then display the results. Most software also has the requirement of data storage and playback functions to be done on the basis of above.This article meet the actual needs of a hoist torque measurement system, a software is design and accomplished which adjust to the measuring system, coordinating the data collecting hardware system and complete the task of hoist main bearing torque measurement.To complete the data acquisition and processing software, researches on the hardware systems are done firstly, a plan of software design is studied out. The software with the functions of data acquisition, processing, display and original data saving is complete by using LabVIEW. The author uses SQLServer to establish a database, by connecting the software and database by LabSQL, the functions as data storage and playback is complete.The theory of software engineering and the software engineering on platform of LabVIEW are researched and analyzed, the plan of the software is determined through understanding the characteristics of the LabVIEW language, programming model and principles. According to the actual demand of hoist torque measurement system, a database system is designed by doing a detailed understanding on database. The method of realizing a database by using SQLServer is studied.During the project, an analysis on the actual requirements of the software is firstly done; the content of the analysis includes functions requirements, performance requirements and interface requirements, etc. The software development model is selected, overview and detail design is completed, the implementation of each module is realized by using LabVIEW and its tool package, an executable file for users is generated. A database system is accomplished by using SQLServer2000.The author complete a data management program by using LabVIEW and LabSQL. The plan for software testing is selected. By connecting the actual hardware system, the actual users operating the software independently, proved that the software can perform all required functions, and meet the actual requirements of users.The measurement of hoist main bearing torque through the data acquisition and processing software is accomplished in this article. Make the calculated data of torque in theory be verified in actual use, complete the engineering practice. This article lay the foundation for other software in the same kind, provide valuable data for the use and design of hoist.
