With the growing on of the reform of China’s market-oriented economy and globalization level in twenty-first century, a series of change of the market environment in our country also have taken place meanwhile. Abstract journals could have complied with the tide of China’s reform and opening up and have been very popular at one time. However, as a result of the rise of new media and multi-business competition of the market, it suffered a setback and nearly hit bottom. Journals possess the characters of both institution and enterprise. To an enterprise, having the core competitiveness is the key to influence its market position and survival condition.In this paper, the development general situation of the special digest which was the object of study was reviewed since its publication. In addition, the component of its core competitiveness was analyzed systematically. For example, the positioning of target readers was very clear and specific; advertisement, printing, publishment integrationmode of operation enhanced its competitiveness of operation and publishment; as a unique marketing strategy, the customization of Business Journal made it possess sufficient market resources; the particularity of creative team and the interpretation of history from different angles made a big difference in its column content with other abstract journals.However, facing the rapidly changing market and the strong rise of new media, the development of special digest also encountered such the problem as homogenization phenomenon with similar journals. Both impact from new media and lack of stamina leaded the development of the special digest to predicament. To solve these problems and help the special digest out of trouble to promote better development, a series of measures was put forward including optimizing the ability for publication planning, improving the coping capacity to new media and developing journal retail market and so on.
