Recently, with the colleges developing fast and the rapid expansion of school scale in from college to university, the application of the campusnet has being used more and more widely. And the college has being attaching importance of development of laboratory, employing more in the construction of the laboratory. With the continuous reform of the Educational system and the level of scientific research promoting, Each discipline penetrates and develops mutually while the laboratory management is becoming increasingly challenging. However the shortcomings of the traditional management is gradually releasing. As a result, it is essential to set up a perfect but easy to use of open laboratory management system.The paper also discussed the researching background and the main design idea, and the significance of the laboratory management system, analyzed the advance on the laboratory management system at home and abroad and research status. Firstly, a detailed analysis on the requirements of laboratory management business was carried out, which mainly included basic laboratory information management, laboratory teaching management, laboratory equipment management, laboratory space management, laboratory safety management. Then according to the needs of the system, the overall structure and the corresponding module were designed, which included the functional diagrams of seven sub-module. And the details of the design content with entity-relationship ER diagrams and the table structure of the database were also described.By research and analysis open laboratory management system, the mangement system developed was in line with regulatory requirements as expansion from college to university. The effective implementation of this set of open laboratory management system comprise further steps, as to reform management, update management tools, strengthen management practices, optimize the combination of external relations within rationalize and teaching operating environment, effectively use and integrate resources, combine the laboratory manager, experimental teachers and laboratory personnel, achieve a smooth, orderly and reasonable experimental teaching. These steps will greatly contribute to improve the quality of teaching experiments, enhance the efficiency and service levels of laboratory management, and upgrade the level of laboratory information management from college to university.
