| With the rapid development of experimental teaching and gradual opening of the laboratory in the university, the traditional laboratory management model couldn't meet the requirements of experimental teaching. The laboratories fully opening to students have some special requirements in the management of practical contents, equipment operation, opening time, and participators. Therefore, an open laboratory management system is need make students, teachers and administrators be able to share information resources quickly and easily, simplify management processes of the laboratory and improve service efficiency as well.Considering the demand analysis and the actual situation investigation of several open laboratories belong to Automation Department in the North China University of Technology, the thesis proposes an overall design program of the open laboratory management system. The thesis describes the structure outline, main function, the selection of hardware and software development tool as well as the implementation of the system introduced in details. The management software is developed on.NET platform, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 for programming and SQL Server 2005 for the database design. Moreover, ASP.NET, ADO.NET and certain key technologies related are involved.The designed system achieves several main features:basic user information management, student's experiment subscription process management and corresponding attendance management, self-defined experiment project submission and verification, dynamical update of laboratory teaching resources, upload & download of the laboratory information, remote experiments of laboratory equipments and real-time video surveillance etc. The designed management system fulfills the essential requirement of the open laboratory, achieves the desired design goals. With open and flexible architecture, the system can be easily performed in other laboratory environment only after certain requirements modification.
