This study is a study of the history of the United States under the spread of public opinion, as the threshold of the study, as defined herein,"spread Perspective" is gradually being academic acceptance from the Chicago school early dissemination of ideas is beginning to Parker, Lippmann and Lasswell Communication Research dominant1920s, to the wartime and postwar dissemination workshop summary Schramm American dissemination of research process. This paper attempts to examine the spread of the history of public opinion in the various stages of the study, showing the historical process of public opinion research, public opinion research-oriented thinking and control of context is what the face appears and legitimacy of academic status.According to this line of thought, the paper will study the history of public opinion in the United States spread into four stages to describe:the first stage, from the Chicago School thinking about the spread of "the nature of the relationship," the talk, study of public opinion from the collective interaction level; second stage with the rise of mass communication research, public opinion research along with dissemination of research to achieve cosmological shift into a functional study vision, but with the neutral, public opinion "functional theory" propaganda concept gradually blurred, become nature of the method as a tool; sociological research focusing third stage after the mid-1930s wartime steering and dissemination of research involved, visit accompanied by the spread of opinion on how to become a utilitarian concept of operations; fourth stage is the discipline has spread to become the method specifications and basic research positions after study how public opinion research paradigm is fixed and continues today.Finally, the status of public opinion research also spread the Vision and the public opinion research in China make their own thinking.
