Design Of Embedded Service For University Digital Library For College Students

The development of modem technology makes the society highly information-oriented. The dissemination of knowledge is no longer bound by time and space, which has become quickly, efficiently and real-time visibly. Taking contemporary information technology as the media of library literature resources and tools familiar to users to serve, digital library becomes a new form of university library service users. Users different in disciplines and information literacy, and they have different needs for library services. To meet their individual needs, the university digital library chooses embedded service. Viewing domestic and foreign research, the most focus on the overall service model. We ignore the demand difference between different user groups. This is a weak spot of the embedded services research.The student is an important kind of user groups for the development of university digital library services. College students’ acceptance of library service is very important for the sustainable development of digital library. This thesis takes university students as a specific target group to study specific service process of embedded services of academic digital library. The purpose is to meet the demand of college students of the service, improve college students’ confidence in the university library and promote the development of the library.The thesis is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which introduces the research background, research status, research content, significance, purpose and methods. The second chapter introduces the related theory and practice situation of this topic, mainly including the concept and development course of digital library and embedded services’ related concepts, characteristics, development course. Finally it introduces the practice situation of embedded service of the university digital library at home and abroad. The third chapter makes user questionnaire investigation for university students. The result of the survey shows the college students’ learning behavior and ideological cognition for the embedded service of the university digital library. Drawing on existing research results and combined with the present situation of investigation and analysis of user demand, the fourth chapter set up the embedded service process and strategies of academic digital library about college students. The fifth chapter takes the college students as the object of a particular user to provide concrete embedded services. Through practice it test this paper’s theory of the process of the embedded digital library services and shows the advantages and disadvantages of the result. This chapter puts suggestion for academic digital library embedded service for college students. The sixth chapter summarizes the main work of this thesis, points out the innovations point and shortcomings, and at look into the future development of this thesis.
