Research On The E-book Resource Service For Student Users In Hebei University Libraries

Along with the continuous development of domestic information technology in China,electronic book resources have become an indispensable part of the construction of contemporary university library collection resources in China,which is the necessary foundation for the realization of library digitization and informatization.Under the influence of the new crown epidemic in 2020,online teaching is commonly carried out in China’s colleges and universities,and teachers and students are advocated to actively use online resources to engage in learning and research activities.Due to the multiple considerations of their current and future development,student users in colleges and universities will give rise to more user needs in their research and study process in addition to basic needs.College libraries should provide rich e-book resources and high-quality e-book services for student users to meet the user needs of student users in their research and study,so as to achieve the purpose of assisting student users to better complete their learning and research activities The purpose is to assist student users to better complete their learning and research activities.When domestic scholars discuss e-book resource services from the perspective of user needs,they start from the demand characteristics of different groups of relevant users in university libraries,and few of them specifically discuss e-book resource services in university libraries from the perspective of user needs of student users in the process of research and study.In the context that digital reading has become a generally accepted reading method for student users and the continued impact of the new crown epidemic,it is a question to be explored how university libraries should provide corresponding e-book resources and services in response to the user needs generated by student users in their learning and research activities.Therefore,this study selects the issue of e-book resource services for student users in university libraries in Hebei Province for research.This study firstly compares the research on e-book resource services of libraries at home and abroad through literature research,and defines the concepts of e-books and university students’ user needs,and elaborates on user needs theory and user satisfaction theory.Secondly,through the form of questionnaire survey,we understand the situation that e-book resources and e-book services in university libraries meet the user needs of university student users in the process of research and study.Once again,through the network research,we sort out the e-book resources and e-book services owned by the libraries in Hebei Province,summarize the current situation of e-book resources services in the libraries in Hebei Province,and combine them with the needs of university students,and summarize the problems that need to be improved in the e-book resources services in the libraries in Hebei Province,which are the imbalance of the types and quantities of resources in each terminal of e-books,and the inaccessibility and ease of use of resources.The accessibility and ease of use of resources should be improved,the targeting and characteristics of resource recommendations are weak,and the popularity and participation of resource training are not high.Finally,in view of the existing shortcomings,we propose strategies to optimize the e-book resource service of university libraries,namely,to build and provide e-book resources by multiple terminals,to improve the accessibility and ease of use of e-book resources,to carry out more targeted e-book recommendations,and to carry out diversified training services.
