Beidou satellite navigation system, abbreviated as BDS, is an independently-constructed by China, independently-operating world’s global satellite navigation system, which is compatible with other satellite navigation systems. In BDS, users get BDS services through ground receiver. The most important part of receiver is baseband signal processor. Now with the rapid development of satellite navigation and positioning technology, it is very significant to do research on baseband signal processor of BDS receiver, which can improve the international competitiveness of BDS.The aim of this paper is to design BDS receiver baseband signal processor based on FPGA. According to the structure of the BDS signals and the principle of pseudo-range positioning, it shows the detailed top-down design process of the baseband signal processor. The baseband signal processor of BDS receiver are separated into the peripheral module, correlator module and bidirectional-port module. The correlator module is core of this baseband signal processor and is seperated into clock-management module, control module, decoder module, select-channel module, signal-encoding module and multi-channel module, signal-processing channels, which are channels in multi-channel module, process the baseband signal. Carrier-wave-generating module and code-generating module in signal-processing channel are designed in detail. Following that, it presents the Verilog HDL description of those modules, which are synthesized and implemented in ISE (Integrated Software Environment). In this part of paper, Mentor Graphics ModelSim is used to simulate modules of baseband signal processor. Finally, the results of debugging on FPGA by ChipScope Pro logic analyzer is presents, and then this paper tests the BDS receiver with the baseband signal processor designed in this paper using High dynamic satellite navigation simulator, which verify the correctness of this design.
