Round array radar as one kind of Phased-array radar has the characteristics of full azimuth range of multi beam and huge data, which makes high demands of signal processing. The rapid development of FPGA makes it have great advantage in processing size and speed, thus occupies an important position in radar signal processing. Based on the radar application background, this dissertation discusses a signal processing scheme with the use of Virtex-7, the latest generation of Xilinx FPGA.In this dissertation, research on the signal processing system is from the verification of theory to hardware design, then to software implementation, and finally to system commissioning. First, the dissertation discusses linear frequency modulated (LFM) compound signal of wide pulse and narrow pulse for far and close target detection capability, proposes the signal processing scheme based on multi-channel pulse compression and MTD, and discusses the methods of distance sidelobe suppression and mosaic of near and far rage gates. On the basis of theoretical research, the system-level MATLAB simulation and anaylsis is given providing theoretical support for the project implementation. Then, on the basis of requirement analysis, the dissertation discusses the general hardware circuit design of the signal processing board, using Virte-7 as the core processor, and gives each module circuit design around FPGA, inculing FPGA configuration circuit, storage system, D/A circuit, power system and clock system. Then, the dissertation discusses the design of FPGA in signal processing, inculing the realization of FFT, IFFT, complex multiplication alroriothms as well as data buffuering and seamless splicing, proposes the multi-mode compatible processing solutions, analyzes time and hardware resources, and analyzes the united simulation and precision by using Modelsim and MATLAB. Finally, during system debugging of the hardware platform, the debugging results of clock system, storage system and D/A circuit are given, the FPGA actual signal processing is tested and verified through online debugging tool ChipScope.FPGA-based signal processing system studied in this dissertation meets the requirements of time resources, hardware resources, real time performace and correctness for further study and provide technical accumulation.
