Nowadays, the key work of protection of museum artifacts, are shifting from the protection and passive restoring, to preventive environment control, active maintenan ce and prevention of artifacts deterioration. Existing means of science and technology are utilized to timely monitor the environment of artifacts preservation (such as:temp erature, relative humidity, light intensity, ultraviolet radiation intensity, the concentrat ion of carbon dioxide and so on), in order to achieve efficient control and managemen t. This is of important reference value for artifacts preservation. This article takes wireless sensor network as a platform, and designs the function circuit the application of sensor node, relay nodes and display of the alarm equipment, and achieves varieties of functions such as transmitting the temperature, relative hum idity, light intensity monitoring data, ultraviolet radiation intensity and the concentrati on of carbon dioxide to the display alarm device and alarming when exceeding standa rd. This would provide museum staff with reasonable data basis to conduct further dat a analysis, processing and mining, and therefore help protect museum artifacts.Functional circuit parts centered with MCU ATmegal28L and RF transceiver C C1100 includes:core circuit, power supply circuit, low voltage monitoring circuit,2.5 V reference of A/D conversion circuit, LED status indicating circuit, JTAG interface c ircuit, temperature and relative humidity sensing circuit, illumination intensity circuit, UV radiation luminance sensing circuit, carbon dioxide concentration sensing circuit, alarm circuit and LCD display circuit.Based on system requirements, the application used C programming language to design and achieve self-organizing and self-maintaining network protocol, which mai nly includes for route searching and building, and data forwarding. Based on network protocol, the application also designs and achieves modular programs include:sensor node monitor data collection and sending, relay node monitor data forwarding, displa ying alarm device’s monitor data receiving, computing, displaying and alarming, etc.Adjustments and tests on functional circuit, application and system proved validi ty and effectiveness of this system design.
