In recent years, with the development of intelligent robotics, smart car began to be applied to all areas of modern society. As the key technology of smart car, the motion control and functional design have become the focus of smart car. Combined with multi-sensor and data fusion technology, this paper focuses on the functional design and motion control technology of the smart car.First, according to the designed functions for the smart car with multi sensor, the design scheme of each module and the feasibility of each scheme are introduced in this paper. This paper makes instructions for hardware and software systems separately and introduces the principle of designed function with the program for each module.Secondly, studies for the differential smart car’s motion control system of the smart car with multi sensor are made in this paper. By comparing the performance of different control system, this paper designs the motion control system based on fuzzy control system and the control system for DC motor based on fuzzy PID control system. Making simulation analysis for each control system by MATLAB software and analyzing the response results of DC motor to test the reasonableness of the system.Finally, some experiments to test the designed function for the smart car with multi sensor are made in this paper, including tracking system, obstacle avoidance system, infrared control system, tracking-obstacle system and speed system. Each system is tested at different speed to observe stability of the system. The results of experiments show that the smart car with multi sensor has a good performance and high stability when the smart car drives at the low speed. The whole system meets the design requirements and lays the foundation for further optimization of the smart car.
