In order to enhance the market competitiveness, reduce the cost of ONU (Optical Network Unit) equipment in EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) system, raise the reliability of ONU equipment, new type ONU of BOSA (optical transceiver module) on Board needed to be developed. This paper relies on H3C Technologies Co.Ltd..Which designs BOSA on Board optical module, and studies detection and isolation method on long luminescence.On the basis of data research about ONU, the design of BOSA on Board optical module is completed by choosing YSB322F4C-4-P-S34 module made by Wuhan Yushen and GN25L95 chip made by Semtech, Which shows the electrical connection relationship, the drive current parameters determines, and proves all above experimentally. Based on the above, this paper proposes detection and isolation scheme on the long luminescence failure of optical module. Through the detecting of the cyclical signal given by GN25L95 chip to determine whether the ONU device is in the long luminescence state. When determines that it is in the long luminescence state, the power of optical transmitter module should be cutted off by monostable circuit, at the same time lighting equipment malfunction light, recording log information, and sending an alarm message to OLT equipment. The company adoptes the technical proposal, and then completes the motherboard design and production based on the BOSA on board ONU optical module. At last the BOSA On Board optical module was tested experimentally and the results show that the function and performance of BOSA On Board optical module can meet China Telecom standards, meanwhile, the function of long luminescence detection and isolation works properly, achieves the desired goals.
