Color night vision technology can improve the image quality of night vision, which is beneficial to the human eye visual perception of the scene and target recognition, So it is one of the key technologies of the current military research at home and abroad. In view of the present color night vision fusion image details are not clear, the contrast is not obvious, this paper will studies the fusion between night light and infrared image and the theory of color transfer, proposed two color contrast enhancement methods for multi-band color night vision fusion images.Firstly, this pape.r introduces the theory of color space and color transfer, and several color night vision fusion method that is widely used in the field of color night vision applications such as NRL, Toet, and the transfer of dimensional color based on the YUV. However, with these methods, the colors of the fusion images are unnatural, and the detailed information is not rich and, in the colorful night vision image, the contrast ratio between the hot target and background is weakened after the color transfer. In order to solve these problems, this paper presents enhancement algorithms of night vision image contrast ratio based on a combination of fusion and color transferring. And simulation results show that, the algorithm can get a color night-vision-fused image with clear edge details, natural colors and enhancement of the contrast ratio between the target and background.Secondly, the ultimate goal of night vision image colorization is to get the natural color images which are easy for human eyes to distinguish. Considering the visual characteristics of human view, the paper studies HSI color space based on human visual perception. color contrast enhancement presents a night vision image fusion algorithm, the algorithm can get a colorful fusion image whose texture at night are clear, and natural colors are easy to distinguish for the human eyes. While the contrast between hot target and background available clearly strengthened for different scenarios.Finally, on the basis of the study above and simulation results, the paper build a system which can realize the fusion between night vision light and infrared dual-channel video image and the color transfer based on YUV space. Software fusion system makes real time fusion to day and night scenes respectively, the color fused image hot target prominent and is easy to human eye to distinguish. Hardware system which is real-time fusion experiments for both indoor and outdoor also got contrast enhancement color fused image. The achievement of this work provides important reference value to fusion systems integration and miniaturization.
