Adopting the methods of history literature analysis and content analysis, the paper sorts original literature of three university journals during the Anti-Japanese War:Xi’an Temporary College Journal, Northwest Associated University Journal and National Northwest University Journal and studies the journals’communication environment, the purpose of running, distribution methods, communicators, the communication type, communication content and editing techniques from the perspective of Journalism and Communication, specifically anlalying news contents divided by themes. The paper tries to study the presented campus eco in the vision of the three university journals and the difference from the popular newspapers at that time and from other university journals in different periods, to clear the the three university journals’positon in Chinese journalism history during the Anti-Japanese War and the characteristics of the times showed by the three university journals.In the editing and publishing aspect, the gatekeeper of the three university journals was educational institution. The purpose of university journals’running emphasized on "education information", "academic" and "alumni". The distribution methods included subscription and presentation, showing the type of activities of organizational communication, which were different from popular newspapers. On the dissemination content, the major campus ceremonial reports combed the formation and development of the university educational philosophy which was "rooting in northwest and servicing for the northwest", and played a leading role in how to view the Anti-Japanese War, the education and the latest domestic and international situation and other issues by representing school leaders’lectures. The war mobilization reports showed that the teachers and students actively paticipated in the Anti-Japanese propaganda, social assistance practise, current issues research, military training activities, educated youth to join the army movement, which had a strong flavor of the times. Routine reports tried to restore the universities inland, the student movement and other major events in the development of the school. Academic reports reproduced the gold investigation in AnKang, clearing the tomb of ZhangQian activities, the Wuhou Temple research activities and other northwest studies. Social exchange reports focused on the implementation of a series of workshops carried out by the school board of social education. The three university journals were different from the popular newspapers in both editing and publishing and contents, and had a special position in Chinese journalism history. In the context of the Anti-Japanese War, the three university journals assumes the social function of salvation propaganda and its news coverage had become a microcosm of the wartime Higher Education News. To the school itself, the three university journals were the annals which reflected the development and changes of the campus and had important historical value. Besides, the university journals had important practical implications for us to understand the relationship between Northwest Associated University and the current Northwest Higher Education today.
