With the rapid development of higher education, more and more higher vocational colleges are confronted with such problems as difficult student management and arduous task of teaching. Therefore, to develop a student management system that can be universally applicable and meet the characteristics of higher vocational education administration is absolutely necessary. It can realize educational information management and greatly improve management working efficiency.In accordance with the characteristics of student management of higher vocational colleges, this dissertation, based on the structure of ASP.NET, proposes a student management information system for higher vocational colleges, which can be applied throughout the whole network. The dissertation mainly probes into and resolves the key problems of teaching management of higher vocational colleges. Employing VB,ASP.NET as the foreground development language, SQL SERVER2000as the background database, and ADO technology as the intermediate link ties, the student management information system respectively achieves various functional modules.Focusing on simplicity, practicality and data security requirement, the system realizes the basic student management of higher vocational colleges. It can satisfy the needs of various higher vocational school business processes, deal with such problems as large amount of data, information redundancy and inconvenient storage utilization, help the management staff effectively improve working efficiency and lower the management cost, realize synergetic office work among different student management departments and achieve information&resource sharing and management of remote higher vocational school students.
