Student Management Evaluation Information System Of Higher Vocational Colleges: Design And Implementation

With rapid development and widely use of Internet and web technology, it hasbeen a common choice for higher professional college to develop evaluationmanagement information system for effectiveness evaluation of various tasks.However, student management achievement oriented evaluation information systemsare seldom reported both theoretically and practically. The reasons may be thatinformation for student management is unstructured with random background noiseand null-value on one hand, and doesn’t have a formal specification on the other hand,which makes it difficult to perform an effective management and evaluation throughstandard management information system. Hence it is meaningful and practical tosetup a perfect framework for information gathering and processing of studentsmanagement, as well as construct management information system within thisframework.In this paper we construct a student management evaluation oriented informationsystem based on student management framework of Zhuhai City Polytechnic Collegethrough Java Web technology, which performs in-depth analysis for recent evaluationframework and underlying relationship between various measurements. Themeasurements of evaluation framework are managed effectively within a unitedframework, which guarantees the feasibility of further mining association betweendifferent parts of original framework. Meanwhile, considering the complexity ofinformation for student management and subjectiveness of measurements, we proposea theoretical framework aiming at constructing an intelligent integrated model throughdata mining technology, and report the design for this framework.Current stable and main-stream Java Web technology such as Java Servlet andJSP are used in our development. For extensibility, we apply Struts, Spring andHibernate which are three widely used Java Web framework in our project, amongwhich Struts is controller framework; Spring is representation framework; Hibernateis an Object-Relation mapping data persistent layer. Hibernate provides a pure OOmapping layer between application and database. Microsoft SQL Server2008DBMSis used as the main database in this project, in which various detailed and summarydata is stored. We test the proposed system within a limited-scope environment, and the result shows that the system can meet the basic requirement of studentmanagement evaluation, and provides enough support for student management.
