At the end of2007, Southern Weekly participated in the selection of "Top10litigations", which started in2005, for the first time. This selection aims to find litigations which can cause reform of system and policy, affect concept of rule of law, and protect human rights. By2011, the selection last for five years, and50cases had been accumulated. According to types of litigation, this paper classified them into criminal litigation, civil litigation, and administrative litigation. And according to characteristics of litigation, they are classified into cases on reform of system, judicial independence, judicial justice, conflict between officials and people, protect of human rights, and social morality.Based on the classification above, this paper studied the relevance of the legal reports by Southern Weekly to " Top10litigations" from2007to2011. More attention was paid on those litigation cases which had never been report, or were in headlines, or had a special report, or on Top10Quantity Issued among50cases.Based on the analysis, this paper made a conclusion that Southern Weekly paid most attention to criminal litigation cases on judicial justice. It also paid much attention to litigation cases on reform of system. For criminal litigation cases on conflict between officials and people, it kept cautious. And little attention was given to litigation cases on protection of human rights. Moreover, much attention was given to legislative activities.Finally, this paper made some suggestions to Southern Weekly, to help it make a difference.
