Since1998, there has been a ringsing phenomenon all around Chinese mainland-Chinese classics learning and chanting (Du Jing) mania. This method and learning activity itself raises lots of disputes. Meanwhile, more and more mass media, including newspapers, radio, TV news and programs and internet of course, has been involved in the reporting activities on this and made significant and continued tides all these years. This thesis focus on the Du Jing reporting tides, and tries to make a profound consideration on the communication activities of mass media. How does mass media report or present the Du Jing mania and Chinese traditional culture as a whole, why do they be fond of doing so in such maybe15years, how do we judge the reports or programs, whether they’re good or not, what’s the evaluation standard. And in this research, I also try to sort out the ways for today’s mass media to transmit Chinese traditional culture.By all these aspects, I come to my conclusion-Chinese traditional culture should be an indispensible part of Chinese modern mainstream values, mass media is one of three backingup force of constructing Chinese mainstream value, therefore, mass media should rightly transmit Chinese traditional culture so as to construct Chinese mainstream value. The innovation of this thesis is combining Du Jing reports with Chinese mainstream value propaganda. And I thoroughly cover almost all the reports, mainly newspapers, since the rising of Du Jing mania. Also, I put the Chinese traditional culture on the daily life perspective.Through the research, I hope to make efforts to promote Chinese traditional culture by means of excellent mass communications, and further to make it be one of the important factors of affecting the happiness of Chinese people and prosperous of modern China.
