"Twelve Five National Strategic Emerging Industry Development Plan" significant demand for economic and social development, focusing on the development direction of the proposed seven strategic emerging industries and major tasks. IOT industry as one of seven strategic emerging industries, under the emerging technology industry, the rapid development of the urgent need for a large number of its trained technician skilled personnel. To this end, a number of vocational colleges have opened since2011to develop a IOT major. Since the creation of the IOT major is short, still in the formative years of major development, lack of major experience in the construction, there has been unreasonable curriculum, a shortage of teaching materials, training equipment and laboratory lag issues, making professional building materials vocational colleges networking slow development process. Major development is the construction of the core substance colleges, only by strengthening the institutions of higher vocational the Internet of things major building materials, in order to develop a social the Internet of things needs and technical personnel, the Internet of things major can be sustained, stable and healthy development.Industrial background, educational background and job background are the foundation of IOT major development. For the purposes of industrial background, things have begun to take basic industrial development, technology development and standards developed breakthrough application promotion noticed. For the purposes of education, the creation of schools and the number of students increases every year, things get state support major. For the purposes of background jobs, networking talent gap is large, especially the lack of networking project implementation and management, networking service and repair and maintenance projects and networking of electronic products, equipment manufacturing and maintenance jobs talent.In this context,select two representative colleges from Nanjing, using interviews, questionnaires and data collection methods texts, access to the Internet of things major’s teachers and students,and collect their opinions and suggestions about the major development of things, investigate two institutions matter vocational status the Internet of things major development, including goal setting, select training mode, networking curriculum system construction, team building aspects of teaching laboratory construction and so on. Through analysis, summarized in two vocational colleges the Internet of things major building materials has been achieved and problems. Finally, based on " Higher major quality standards," many aspects of proposed countermeasures from vocational colleges the Internet of things major building materials, including:1) Constantly updated major research, a clear physical changes in demand for talent IOT industry;2) personnel training programs to build schools and enterprises, highlighting the IOT major characteristics;3) closely linked to the hierarchy of the Internet of things, to strengthen the Internet of things major core curriculum construction;4) cooperation with the introduction of a combination, to promote the Internet of things major teaching system construction;5) combine renovation and new construction, reinforcement the Internet of things major laboratory building;6) using diversity training to enhance the professional teachers of the things of the Internet major.
