On The Role Of Network Communication "gatekeeper"

With the development of computer technology and internet technique, life has been attached to the internet more closely. Thanks to the openness and anonymity of internet, a more freedom sphere is created for participator to express ideas, compared to traditional media, and conception that Gatekeeping of media is weakened by internet. Working to close relationship between nations, intensified interactivity of communication, does internet really weakened its function of gatekeeping? This research is contributed to conduct a general analysis, based on the topical issue of Edison Chan's Nude Photo Scandal, on Gatekeeping on the internet to prove the function of gatekeeper has not been weakened but to some extent strengthened to forge the issues ahead in the sight of internet, netizens and government being gatekeeper. Reasons of multifarious influence are also studied to search out suitable coping strategies to amplify promotion of development of national network, in a way of social-benefit, open-to-the-world and harmonious.
