This article focused on the mentality of the television audience, analyzing three major issues, which were studio space art design, broadcast functional layout and audience's mental acceptance. Starting with the emergence of television studio in 1926, the article compared historical features and attributes of the television broadcast studio on chronological basis, including the real studio, virtual studio, blue box studio,3D and even 4D special effects studio. Also, it emphasized the different characteristics in different times reflected by the broadcast studio, using audience models generated by historical recursion. The article was dedicated to the space art design, researching language symbols that stimulates positive emotions from the audience and looking for forms and semantics of the television news broadcast studios that help to build the public credibility of the traditional media.Based on the above thinking, the author tried to interpret the media symbols in the construction of studio space art design and research on the visual, perceptual, behavioral and conceptual aspects. Through the case study of SMG's live broadcast studio used in the Shanghai World Expo, the author analyzed audience's awareness and perception by visual experience, broadcast technology and functional experience. The article summarized the precious experiences of how the live broadcast studio of the Shanghai World Expo helped to establish the public credibility and guide the positive social ideology.
