The Shanghai2010EXPO, which lasted for six months, is the first world‐class exposition hosted by China, and it really shocked the visitors from all around the world.,as well as the media reporters. The reason why I choose the Taiwan media as my studying object,is because Taiwan is the last part of China that is still segregated from the mainland compared with Hongkong and Macao. However, benefiting from the active and outstanding political and economical communication in decades, the relations between the strait has developed greatly, which indicates the present period is extremely important and historic for the understanding and merging between the strait. This study selected the representative newspaper United Daily news、China Times and liberty times in Taiwan as the samples and selected292item related‐news from the three newspapers during the period of Shanghai Expo.Through content and quantitative analysis of the articles,I tried to make clear whether or not there are different news frames in the media coverage of these newspapers, how they choose the news materials and how they organize the articles to express their opinions etc.If there are some differences, what are they and what could result from these dissimilarities? The result of the study shows that when reporting the mainland`s hot issues in the recent years, Taiwan media do have some obvious changes. These changes could be found from many aspects, for instance, although the political power in Taiwan still has some influences to the local media, the reporting style is becoming mild and moderate, the differences between the coverage of different papers that once hold different political positions are becoming smaller and invisible. And the Positive reports prevail the negative ones in the mass, and the value judgement based on the ideological critiques has been weaken and the media seems become more neutral and choose to stand in the middle.
