The CAD technology has begun to shift from two-dimensional to three-dimensional with the development of the modern information technology. However, the existing three-dimensional CAD software can not fully meet the industry requirements, so it has important practical significance that the secondary development of 3D CAD software, and the establishment of applications, which apply to the small and medium manufacturing enterprises to support the product design.There are many types and quantities of software system in the field of CAD, though the different CAD system to solve the different applications, there are many similarities on their functions and operations, so it is feasible that reuse the existing systems in the development process of the new system. Software reuse means that the software systems are reorganized by the components or modules, which have been realized in the process of software development. There are many advantages that using the technique of reuse developing software system, such as enhance the efficiency of production, shorten the development cycle of product, reduce error rate of code, lower the costs of software and so on. The research of software reuse in the development process of CAD system is limited and the reusable components is also a lack of extraction and use in this field, so there is not enough support for developing. The thesis analyzes these questions; the main contents are as follows:1. Analyzed the background and current situation of the Solidworks secondary development, pointed the existing problems at present, introduced the theory and method of developing products using the ideas and technology of software reuse, and defined the scope of this study and basic ideas.2. Analyzed the concept of software reuse technology and related knowledge. With the research on the basis of the status quo at home and abroad, a reuse development method, which solves the conflict between Computer Aided Design software development cycles and rapid customization of personalized, by the component technology to assemble the modules of CAD is proposed for the model of hand-workshop-study, 3. Discussed the secondary development technology of CAD system. It can improve the openness of software system, make full use of the existing resources and improve the efficiency of the designing that the reusable component technology was used in the standard components software system.4. A framework of the system was proposed and the key technology was researched in this thesis.The methods and steps of software reuse development in the standard system were showed by combining examples.
