Safety assessment is also called danger grade assessment or risk assessment; it is applied to forecast system risk factors with safety systematic engineering. Enterprise can hold emphasis of macro management and get reliable basic data of micromanagement by safety assessment. It is the important segment of scientific safety management and powerful measure for creating good work conditions.According to characters, safety assessment can be classified into three types: qualitative assessment, quantitative assessment and general assessment. Among them, quantitative assessment involves a mass of calculations based on existing formulas, and it must repeat a large number of calculations in different assessment objects. By compiling and applying computer-aided assessment programs, we can reduce manual work and improve the accuracy and efficiency of calculations.Computer-aided program of safety assessment is compiled with Microsoft VisualBasic and Microsoft Access. This program has three modules - MSDS databasemodule, safety assessment module and accident consequence analogy module.MSDS database module involves about 3000 kinds of dangerous chemicals; it has functions of querying, adding, deleting and modifying the information of these chemicals.Safety assessment module involves seven methods of safety assessment: DOW method, MOND method, Graham-Kinney method, risk factor method, SINOPEC method, danger grade for chemical plant and fuzzy method. Every method has the relevant computer program and all of them have been integrated in the same program window; we can choose the proper method based on character of assessment object.Four injury modes are involved in accident consequence analogy module. They are pool fire mode, jet fire mode, fireball & BLEVE mode and steam cloud explosion mode. Every mode has been introduced in detail in this module. We can use the proper mode by the real conditions. With the auto-drawing function of program, the assessment results can be showed in intuitionistic graphics form.Process of cellulose acetate is integrated with chemical, textile andthermoelectricity. The process is long, complex and dangerous. Most of substances are hazardous. Safety assessment is good for preventing accident and guarantying safety of production. The results of cellulose acetate safety assessment withcomputer-aided program are valuable in practice.
