The Research And Implementation Of Network Topology Discoveries

The complexity of computer networks accelerate the improvement of network management, thus it is necessary and significant to do research and implementation of network topology discoveries which are the essential functions in network management.The paper presents my work and conclusion on the project of system management and network management. My research focuses on the framework and function of the sub-system of network topology discovery. In this paper, the scalable framework is presented which can integrate many kinds of technplogies about network topology discoveries, and the topography database is designed by which topology information is easily stored, analyzed and visualized after the in-depth study of the key technologies about the implementation of the sub-system. Further more, after a discussion about the features and drawbacks of the current technology of network topology discoveries, an algorithm of topography database based which integrates SNMP, ARP and ICMP is designed and implemented. This algorithm shows a good performance in run-time.
