For fabricating new high technology radio equipments, an important and urgent task is to spread operating frequency to higher frequency range. For high cost and technology difficulty of LO in millimeter wave, frequency multiplier is a good choice.In this paper, the operation of the multiplier is introduced. Moreover, various kinds of diode multipliers are analyzed and compared. Especially, the operation of the anti-parallel-diode-pair multiplier is stressed on and the theoretical analysis and simulation is also given out in detail.The project of the D-band multiplier, using Suspended Coplanar Waveguides and Anti-Parallel-Diode-Pair to realize frequency triple, is proposed. The whole circuits adopt hybrid IC technology.For realizing frequency multiple more accurately and effectively, Agilent ADS and Ansoft HFSS co-simulation is adopted. Diode modeling, transition of micro-strip to coplanar waveguide, micro-strip low-pass filter, matching circuits and the whole multiplier circuits are all designed by ADS and HFSS co-simulation.The D-band multiplier was fabricated and tested. The final test result obtained is as follows:the output power is -4dBm-3.9dBm@ 120GHz-148GHz.In the end, the test result is analyzed and the further improvement is brought up.
