Western Mainstream Media Reported On Events In Tibet And Xinjiang Event Analysis

From anti-SARS campaign happened in 2003, southern ice-snow disaster at thebeginning of 2008, to"3?14 Tibet Incident"in 2008 and"7?5 Xinjiang Incident"in 2009.Human beings have entered an era of frequent conflicts and disputes. Breaking events,owing to its high sensibility and vital concernment , have always been a hot topic in theeyes of foreign media.This paper selects typical Western media---New York Times and International HeraldTribune as research subjects, and adopts content analysis method, analyzing reportingdifferences between"3?14 Tibet Incident"and"7?5 Xinjiang Incident", through furtheranalysis of causes, thereby summing up better tactics for China's following breaking newsreporting.
