Probing into the ‘few output with lots input’ problem occurs in current primary Chinese education, integrating with targets and contents of new curriculum standards, Xue Fagen has put forward study in chunking teaching with his team, successfully has achieved significant yields. Based on constructivism, researchers have primarily developed prototype of chunking teaching and refreshing educating philosophy and methods. Chunking teaching broke paragraph-to-paragraph traditional teaching in reading mode, there are established relevant chunking teaching mode, which greatly improves the efficiency of teaching reading, compared to the traditional model of reading instruction, it is a valuable innovation. Xue’s chunking teaching has been adopted in Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangxi and other provinces, won plenty attention from primary Chinese education part and relevant educators.This thesis is based on cases of Xue Fagen and other relevant cases, studies chunking teaching in theory and practice, consisting of six parts.Chapter 1, studies background and targets. Firstly to introduce status and problems current Chinese education, secondly to basically summarize chunking teaching research progress, thirdly to clarify targets and value of this thesis, fourthly to introduces research methods.Chapter 2, defines chunking teaching idea, by means of expounding theoretical basis, and to analyze advantages of chunking teaching by comparing with traditional primary Chinese education.Chapter 3, specifically expounds structural elements from three parts: setting education targets, selecting education contents and interactive sessions, to thoroughly research chunking teaching with specific cases.Chapter 4, puts forward application strategies in various literary forms, providing definite methods by narrating typical narrative articles, ancient poetries, expository writings and etc. Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 are key contents of this thesis.Chapter 5, integrating with two- month intern period experiences, author summarizes parts need improvements.
