A Study On The Psychological Demand Of The Disabled In The Rural Areas

The number of rural incompetent elderly left behind increases gradually. The most important issue of rural construction is meeting their basic and psychological needs. According to the field survey, we found that the influence effects of rural incompetent elderly left behind in psychological demand are about the lack of material life, shortage of health care, lack of life care system and vanity in spiritual life. Based on PDY in C as a typical case, this article constructs and rebuilds his family and neighbor-help system with the model of the general process of social work under the guidance of ecological system theory and the theory of social support,which makes his life condition and life care improved, and decreases psychological press on these two conditions. Meanwhile, this article enhances the client’s self-efficacy by the way of leading him to externalizing problem with mode of narrative therapy, which makes the client more confidence about the future life. But,the intervention process of this case still occurs some insufficient, for example, there is more increasing space in mobilizing medical and health resources and advocating policy, or follow-up is not timely. These problems caused the client’s partial psychological needs have not been meet in time. Above all, we suggest that social work for increasing psychological needs of rural incompetent elderly left behind should start from all ecosystem of their life, mobilize the potential social support system for its service and enhance their self-efficacy, foster community social capital with increasing power as the orientation. Only by these ways, there can fully meet the psychological needs of the elderly left behind, and they can obtain the fundamental guarantee in mental health.
