Twenty-first Century was a marine century. The contradiction of exploitation of marine resources and marine land disputes has become increasingly prominent. But with the contradictory of the competitive international marine competition, our national ocean consciousness is deficient, and our marine knowledge is far from enough. Improving the national ocean consciousness should start from the basic education. Knowledge about marine almost set in the middle school geography curriculum. It can be said that the middle school geography curriculum is the main force of popularization of Marine education. So we must be rational planning of marine education in middle school geography.This paper research of middle school marine education, with the middle school geography teaching material as the breakthrough point. Select of the most widely used People’s Education Press and Hunan Education Press version, from the overall content selection and surface preparation of angle, to research and analysis of marine education contents of the two editions. Summarized the questions existing in the textbook, in order to optimize the teaching materials and put forward reasonable proposals.For the study of marine education content in the teaching material, using Professor Diao ChuanFang’s summarize method of traditional teaching material analysis theory, research and analysis the two aspects of the macro and micro levels. The macro part is mainly analysis the selection of marine education in the textbook, layout structure and writing style of the teaching material. The micro part is dominated by surface system of textbook, research on the proportion of two versions of marine education content, structure and presentation.Through the research on marine education content, draw the following conclusions:(1) The choice of the two versions marine education content, on the basis of curriculum has certain extend, but the quantity of marine education is still inadequate, need to be further strengthened;(2) Marine education as a whole, was arrangement of improper in the middle school teaching material. It’s not conducive to the popularization of citizen consciousness of ocean. We need to adjust its structure arrangement for overall, strengthen the required of marine education in the junior middle school and the compulsory part of high school;(3)In addition to the marine education main body content, we also need to fully exploit ocean education penetration in the field of humanities and regional geography, etc. Make the students form the notion of focus on ocean and love ocean;(4) This two versions present a different style in writing, but they all need to be optimized on the surface system, strengthen the proportion of images, setting up reasonable case and supplementary material, make the content of the marine education overall more vivid and interesting.
