Published In Yuan Dynasty 30 Polysyllabic Words To Study

YuanKan ZaJu SanShiZhong(Thirty plays printed in Yuan Dynasty) is the earliest and also the only drama-volume engraved in Yuan Dynasty, which includes more than twenty dramatists' works not revised in Ming Dynasty.lt is the very important literature materials that reserves the original appearance of opera of Yuan-Dynasty. As the only drama-volume engraved in Yuan Dynasty,it attracts more and more people' attention to study it. Nowadays,scholars have obtained lots of academic achievements not only in the realm of Literature but aslo in the field of Linguistics(mainly on Lexicology and Grammar).There is some researching aritcles about polymorphemic words in YuanKan ZaJu SanShiZhong,but their corpus not cover all works in it, then we can not have a clear sense on the polymorphemic words' panorama and features in this volume.Yuan Dynasty is on the turning point of Chinese evolution,Chinese language of this period experiences changes from Mid-classical Chinese to Late Antiquity Chinese. YuanKan ZaJu SanShiZhong is the representative materials and the valuable documentations of Chinese in Yuan Dynasty, so doing systematic research on its polymorphemic words is totally necessary.By using these research methods,such as statistics quantization and historic comparison,we get lots datas about polymorphemic words'quantity, word class and word formation in YuanKan ZaJu SanShiZhong.Statistical datas don't contain names of people,place,county,dynasty and works.The 1901 polymorphemic words altogether in YuanKan ZaJu SanShiZhong could be divided into two parts,the pronunciation constitute (including reduplications and non-reduplication forms) and the grammal constitute. The grammal constitute could be divided into seven different parts,coordinative compounds,subordinate compounds, supplemental compounds,verb-object compounds, subject-predicate compounds,affixation and integrated type.According to the statistics results, it seems that the amount and the level of development among all kinds of polymorphemic words is imbalance. Firstly, the proportion of the pronunciation constitute and the grammal constitute in the book is unbalanced. Secondly, internal imbalances of the pronunciation constitute is obvious.Reduplications is a very important word-building method and language feature of this drama-volume engraved in Yuan Dynasty. Thirdly, internal imbalances of the grammal constitute is obvious,too.Compared with several works of different historical periods,we find that the morphology in YuanKan ZaJu SanShiZhong is not new but following the previous generation,and coordinative compounds and subordinate compounds play an important part in it.
