| Dang Gui Shao Yao San was first seen in the book Jin Gui Yao Lue, for the use of pregnancy abdominal pain and female abdominal pain. Modern use of Dang Gui Shao Yao San is seen in many department of medicine such as gynecology, medical, surgical, urological, and ophthalmology. This thesis focuses mainly on the modern use and analysis of Dang Gui Shao Yao San's treatment on gynecology diseases. Using computer and statistic software to process gathered documents. Building a data base for Dang Gui Shao Yao San on its use in gynecology area. Processing information from different point of vies and summarizing its applicable range, differentiation pathology, treatment, adding or subtracting, combining formula, decoction, and usage. Turning document information into number information, and analyze to a conclusion.Recent articles which uses Dang Gui Shao Yao San in treating gynecology disease, the Chinese medicine disease name menstrual pain appear the most, pelvic infection placed second, and vaginal discharge the last. As for western medicine, menstrual pain first, pelvic infection second, following by infertility and appendagitis. Overall, Dang Gui Shao Yao San is used most in menstrual disease, with menstrual pain placing first, then pregnancy disease, with pregnancy abdominal pain being the most seen. Also, Dang Gui Shao Yao San is used a lot in treating pelvic infection disease and tumor.Recent articles described Dang Gui Shao Yao San's effect being strengthen spleen and drain dampness the most, nourishing blood soothing liver second, and harmonizing liver and spleen. Other effects mentioned were dissipiate blood stasis, and tocolysis, which provides a foundation for expandable use of Dang Gui Shao Yao San.As for modifying of herbs,199 herbs were used modifying Dang Gui Shao Yao San. These herbs can be divided into 19 categories. In which cleansing heat and tonifying herbs appeared most, activating blood and dissipiating blood stasis second. Exert water drain dampness, regulate qi and release superficial were all common herbs used. Single herbs used most were Gan Cao, Huang Qi, Yan Hu Suo, Xiang Fu, Yi Mu Cao, Sheng (Chao) Yi Ren.In recent articles, more than 30 formulas were used with Dang Gui Shao Yao San. Gui Zhi Fu Ling Wan being the most, Yi Yi Fu Zi Bai Jiang San second. Others such as moxibustion Zhi Ying(BL 67) to treat abnormal fetal position, and with Ci Wu Jia injection to treat menopause syndromes.As for the change in form of medicine, most recent articles change original powered medicine to decoction. Some used powered or capsule, even pills or tablets. As for the usage, enema and external application on belly were documented other than oral. As for the time to take medicine, the most common was based on menstrual cycle, requiring the use of medicine before cycle was the most frequent demand. The period of medicine usage ranged for 7 days to 1 month,10 day course of treatment being the most, followed by 7.Recent articles listed contradictions and precautions such as forbid cold, uncooked, spicy edibles. Forbid or decrease of sexual activities were also mentioned. As for the adverse effect, two case came with minor hettle rash, another with minor sleepiness and fatigue. All case recovered after stopping medication. Another case had serious lost of hair, yet symptom gradually decreased after continuing medication.This thesis systematically analyze and summarize recent articles of Dang Gui Shao Yao San usage in treating gynecology disease.
