Many people around the world suffer from dry eye syndrome. Poor quality and lack of tears cause this condition. Dry eye is chronic disease which is charactered by the instability of lacrimal film and impairment of ocular surface. Dry eye is commonly seen in clinical practice'. More worse, by so far concrete etiological factors and pathogenic mechanism of dry eye is still unknown and consequently more efficacious therapy or drugs to dry eye is insufficient in clinical medicine. It is of clinical importance and social value to explore effective ways to improve asthmatics' quality of life. Objectives:to evaluate the treatment effects of thunder and fire moxibustion on the treatment of dry eye syndrome, in order to explore method interference of dry eye by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).Methods:Combination of thunder and fire moxibustion and hyaluronic acid sodium eye drops was used to treat dry eye, and compared with local hyaluronic acid sodium eye drop for random control observation. All these patients are treated for 4 weeks. their clinical symptom and physical sign are observed and collected. Results:After 4 weeks time of treatment, the experimental group has some superiority on controlled group in fatigue symptoms, eye dryness, eye distension, and tear break up time, their difference has statistical meaning(P<0.05) . The experimental group was effective in schirmer I test, but the controlled group was ineffective. Conclusions :(1) The experimental group has some superiority on controlled group in fatigue symptoms, eye dryness, eye distension, and tear break up time.(2) The experimental group has phanero-superiority on controlled group in improve tear film stability.(3) Thunder and fire moxibustion has superiority in improve tear secretion, but artificial tear has not.
