After A Cold Cough Tcm Syndrome Observation

Respiratory cough is a protective reflex, to remove respiratory secretions and foreign bodies into the respiratory tract.But long-term severe coughing is able to cause more complications of the system,such as anxiety, hyposomnia, muscular soreness,dysarthria, enuresis, apopsychia symptom complex of cough and so on, which have seriously affected normal study, live or work of the patients.Postinfectious cough is a independent disease which long-term cough remains after the acute symptoms such as fever,pain throat,stuffiness,running at the nose disappear.The disease has no typical clinical manifestations, the pathogenic mechanism is not yet clear,and Western medicine still has no effective treatment methods.Compared to Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine with unique system has more advantages in the treatment of exogenous cough。But on postinfectious cough itself, systematic syndrome observation and research is still a lack.The objective of the study is to investigate the etiological factor , pathogenesis, and syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine First,the study is performed to investigate the previous syndrome study of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical feature of modern medicine. Based on the previous clinical experience and records,the principal syndrome and have been determined.Second, a total of 200 patients meeting the diagnostic criteria were enrolled. Epidemiological data,clinical features,tongue and pulse condition of postinfectious cough were recorded in our study. Then statistical analysis about syndrome feature were performed in line with the syndrome diagnostic criteria of Chinese medicine.According to literature and clinical experience of tutor, combining with the tongue, pulse, disease, we conclude that the mechanism of the disease is wind pathogen tightening the lung and the following impairment of purifying and descending function of the lung,and wind pathogen tightening the lung is the principal syndrome of the disease. On this basis, patients can aiso suffer with anorexia ,bitter taste of mouth, viscous stool,red tougue ,yellowish greasy tongue and some other companied symptoms .According to related diagnostic criteria ,we summarized that damp-heat in the middle-JIAO,hyperpyrexia of liver, hyperactivity of cardiac fire, insufficiency of lung-QI,and the insufficiency of lung-Qin have high incidence fate ,which are probably being the dominant pathological changes can cause difficulty to cure cough and a long course disease.In short, this study has drawn some preliminary conclusions and understanding of the pathogenesis and syndrome characteristics of postinfectious cough.The innovation part is the principal syndrome of wind pathogen tightening the lung , and the accompanied symptoms and signs such as damp-heat in the middle-JIAO, which can provide certain ideas and direction of Chinese medicine treatment.
