Objective:Hyperlipemia refers to in the blood one kind of or many kinds of lipidcontents surpasses when the regular high limit the disease, it is the lipidsupersession result. And it has a very close relationship withhypertension, coronary heart disease, cerebral disease and adiposity.Traditional Chinese Medicine belongs to hyperlipemia in the blood vesselspathological change outside, the phlegm is muddy for the blood in, doesnot have the blood vessels impeded, stagnation of flow of vital energychannels and collaterals vitality and so on blood stasis, phlegm anti-veinmovements is abnormal. And Fenglong point is the key point for dispellingphlegm, this point has the remarkable curative effect in the recuperationtaste function and the adjustment blood fats aspect. So, in recent years, there are many correlative clinical reports to confirm that acupuncturehas the bidirectional control action to the lipid and lipoproteinmetabolism, in order to achieve the effect of the blood vessels unimpededand the blood lipid reduced, and its clinical curative effect isaffirmative. But, at present, there are not a lot of embedded researches aboutspecific point, and very many clinical reports lack the science strictdesign and the comparison, so their results cannot obtain the worldrecognition. This topic is precisely based on this problem, using theresearch technique of big sample, multi-centers, randomness, blind methodto observe the clinical curative effect of electroacupuncture at Fenglongpoint in the treatment of hyperlipidemia, and to provide clinical evidencefor main treatment of Fenglong point.Methods:288 patients with hyperlipidemia were selected from the Departmentof Acupuncture, Wuhan Chinese & Western Medicine Hospital, Department of Acupuncture, Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and theDepartment of Acupuncture of Wuhan Union Hospital between September 2003and December 2005. Subjects were randomly divided into electroacupunctureat Fenglong point group (experimental group, n=144) and medicine controlgroup (control group, n=144).All participants knew and agreed withthe items. Patients in the experimental group were acupunctured atbilateral Fenglong points with NATURAL once sterile acupuncture needlesof type 30~# and 2-cun long. Needles were vertically stabbed into musclesquickly with the needling of 1.5 cun. And LH202H Han's Acupoint NerveStimulator was adopted with dilatational wave of constant amplitude. Thecurrent intensity was 8-12mA and the frequency was 2/100Hz. Needles werekept in muscles for 30 minutes once a day for 5 continuous times as onecourse. There was a rest of 2 days after 1 course and the treatment lastedfor 4 continuous courses, 29 days. Patients in the control group orallytaken pravastatin tablets 10mg each time and once a day at night for 29continuous days. The changes of total cholesterol(TC),triacylglycerol(TG), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C) andhigh density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C) were examined before andafter the treatment. Results:A total of 288 hyperlipidemia cases were enrolled in three clinicalcenters, and the clinical researches were accomplished on 247 cases, including 127 cases in the electroacupuncture at Fenglong point group and120 cases in the medicine control group.①The levels of LDL-c and HDL-cin the control group were significantly down regulated than those in theexperimental group [those in the control group before and 2 months afterthe treatment were respectively (3.28±0.10), (2.93±0.11)mmol/L; (1.15±0.03), (1.87±0.06)mmol/L, and those in the experimental group were(3.56±0.11), (3.71±0.10)mmol/L; (1.22±0.04), (1.39±0.06)mmol/L, P <0.01].②There were no remarkable differences in levels of TC and TGbetween two groups(P>0.05).③There were no marked differences in totaleffective rate between two groups at 29 days, 1 month and 2 months aftertreatment (those in the experimental group were 56.7%, 57.5%, 57.5% respectively, and those in the control group were 62.5%, 70.8%,74.2%, P>0.05).Conclusion:The blood lipid in patients of both groups are well regulated.
