Objective:Using BOLD-fMRI technique to obtain the brain activation areas, which are caused by acupuncturing right Fenglong point of stomach meridian and its corresponding non-point of healthy subjects.Combination Traditional Chinese Meridians with neurology knowledge explores the treatment mechanism of acupuncturing Fenglong point,to prove acupuncture can cause specific activation of relevant brain areas. It provides a more intuitive visual imaging basis for the specificity of points. Methods:Choosing eighteen healthy male graduate students as experimental subjects.Acupuncturing their right Fenglong point of stomach meridian and its corresponding non-point respectively.Acupuncturing at the same time, using Philips AchieVa 3.0T TX double gradient multi-source launch MRI scanner to collect the brain BOLD signals of subjects, and to obtain the dynamic picture of different brain function areas. Then using SPM12 statistical software to postprocess the acquired image.Statistical analysis using one sample t test,P<0.01,connected voxel values>10 were statistically significant. Finally, the range, voxel value and intensity of acupuncturing Fenglong point and its corresponding non-point activation region were obtained.Results:1.Acupuncturing Fenglong point activate brain areas including left cerebellum, precentral gyrus, midbrain, limbic lobe;right cerebellum, brainst em,insular, thalamus, superior frontal gyrus, middle frontal gyrus posterior central gyrus.2.Acupuncturing Fenglong point deactivate brain areas including left hippocampal gyrus, limbic lobe, middle temporal gyrus, lingual gyrus, inferior parietal lobule;right limbic lobe, fusiform gyrus.3.Acupuncturing the corresponding non-point activate brain areas including left limbic lobe, middle frontal gyrus and inferior frontal gyrus;right superior temporal gyrus, middle frontal gyrus and superior frontal gyrus.4.Acupuncturing the corresponding non-point deactivate brain areas including left superior parietal gyrus and right parietal lobe.conclusion:1.Compared with non-point,brain activation areas by acupuncturing Fenglong point has specific. It confirms the theory of points specificity.2.Acupuncturing subjects right Fenglong point, both hemispheres were activated. This phenomenon prompts the distribution of channels not only has ipsilateral nerve fiber domination phenomenon, but also has the contralateral crossover phenomenon.3.Brain activation areas by acupuncturing Fenglong point are related to its attending function.
