The object of our study is hemiparalysis caused by stock. After analyzed a lot of lectures, the characteristics of Rehabilitation of TCM was confirmed and main problems lying in Rehabilitation of TCM on paralysis was also brought up. It is suggested that the important way of taking advantage of Traditional Chinese and Western Rehabilitation medicine and establishing the system of traditional Chinese Rehabilitation medicine is to introduce the concept of handicap, the system of functional assessment, the technique of modern Rehabilitation medicine, retain the points of overall analysis symptoms and signs, enrich the special and synthetic technique of TCM used in paralysis rehabilitation. On the basis of the points mentioned above, the clinical study of Eight methods of TCM used in stock hemiparalysis rehabilitation was carried on. Aims: to verify the rehabilitation effects of eight methods of TCM, to discuss their rehabilitation mechanism and reveal their characteristics and advantages compared with Western rehabilitation therpies. Methods: 300 hospital patients suffering from cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral infarct were selected and grouped into two groups at random, the treatment group and the contrast group respectively. Their idiopathic disease and complication was treated by drug of TCM and Western drug in the same specifications; at the same time, the contrast group was treated by modern Rehabilitation exercises, and the treatment group was treated by Eight methods of TCM used in paralysis rehabilitation. (The medicines of TanFuKang, The treating bag of the navel of TanFuKang, the health gymnastics of paralysis, external application and pasting of TanFuKang, magnet-insertion cupping of TanFuKang, the treatment of music and electron of TanFuKang, psychotherapy of Rehabilitation, the Rehabilitation exercises of paralysis). After one month, the synthetical effect was evaluated by calculating results of theintegration of improved degree which based on the stable of deficient quantity of nerve function. The lessen effect of spasm condition was also evaluated by using the modified Ashworth method of measuring muscle tension extent; and the activity of daily living ability was also estimated through the modified Barthel Index. The data were analyzed by the statistics software of SPSS 10.0, the calculating materials, counting materials and grading materials were analyzed by t test, X2 test and Riddit analysis respectively. Results: the total effective rate of the treatment group is 94.7%, and that of the contrast group is 92.0%. The synthetic habilitation effect of two groups has no significant deference (P>0.05); by further comparing the basic recovered rates of two groups, the effect that the treatment group is far batter than the contrast group (P<0.05)can be observed. The upper and the lower limbs' spasm degree of the patients in treatment group is definitely changed between the pre-treatment and the post-treatment, but that fact in contrast group is not obvious. Before treating, the spasm degree of the treatment group and the contrast group are not distinctly different; but there lies a significant difference between the treatment group and the contrast group after treating (P<0.05). The rehabilitation effect of two groups by observing the spasm degree of the limbs between the pre-treatment and the post-treatment was also assessed. The rehabilitation effect of two groups has an apparent difference (P<0.05); After calculated the integration of the movement handicap of the upper and the lower limbs based on the brief formation of Fugal-Meyer Assessment (FMA), the fact that the integration of two groups between the pre-treatment and the post-treatment has a significant difference (P<0.01)was observed. But compared between the groups, there has no difference before treating. However, the effect of the treatment group is better than the contrast group (P<0.05). At last, the modified Barthel Index wasused to evaluate the activity of daily living ability of the patients, the index rank of Barth...
