Objective: To explore the mechanism of Qingkailing injection (QKLI) in treating rheumatiod arthritis(RA) in active stage. Methods: Seventy cases of RA in active stage were divided into the treated group (38 cases treated with QKLI) and the control group(32 cases treated with HuoBaHuaGen tablet). The syptonis-. signs and laboratory examinations of all patients before and after treatment were observed. In experiment study, severity of arthritis and the arthritic index were investigated in the wister rats with collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) and in mice. In addition, observation of antifebric effect on rabbits was also made. Results: The total effective rate was 89.47 % in treatment group, while in control group,it was 87.5 %. The difference of total effective rate between the two groups was unremarkable (P>O.05), while QKLI is superior to HuoBafluaGen tablet in effect of antifebric. Experiments on animals showed QKLI has the function of antifebric~ dephlogisticate -~ anigesia and immune regulation. I[Iistopthology showed that less synovium hyperplasia and fewer infiltration of inflammatory cells in the group treated with QKLI than the control group. Conclusion:QKLI can be applied to the therapy of RA in. active stage.
