Coal industry is pillar industry of our country. Subsurface drainage system of coal mine play an important role in normal production in mine. In recent years, with the development of high production and efficiency of coal industry, the problem of subsurface drainage has been the key factor of restricting the development of production of coal. Now days, there are mainly two available control ways in mine drainage. The one is manual relay control, however, whose reliability and secure performance is poor. Another adopts PLC combining with transmitter control of AC motor to start water-pump. This way has reliable behavior, comfortably operation and high automation, but high price.In the view of the situation above, the design of underground mine pump room monitoring terminal based on CAN-bus is proposed, according to the superiority of CAN-bus communication and ARM embedded system used in industrial control. This proposal uses combining CAN-bus and ARM embedded to collect and transmit data, and control pump. This monitoring terminal composes of sensor, actuator, five CAN intelligent nodes and CAN-bus network.ARM7 microprocessor-LPC2294 is adopted as central control unit of CAN intelligent node. On its hardware, the minimum system, communication interface, collect data and pump control module are designed. On its software, firstly, the software is designed in detail based on pre and post table, then, to enhance the reliability of system management and scheduling, tried the method of software design based onμC / OS-II, to improve the system. As CAN network part, the key technology of CAN Baud rate setting method and error analysis CAN application layer protocol definition are introduced, the communication network debug platform is constructed with intelligent node USBCAN intelligent interface card and PC. The communication function of CAN intelligent node and feasibility of CAN communication network is proved by examination.
