With the rapid development of information technology, we have entered the era of digital learning. teaching and learning Through the network has become a new learning trend, but the previous learning management systems who experience the development of several generations, have big problems, mainly as single teaching method, monotonous teaching methods, can not effectively control the process of student learning and so on, especially on the reusability and interoperability of learning design. In order to solve existing problems, IMS LD specification builds up, it is concerned about the learning design process, emphasis on the design of sequence of events and activities, but also concerned about the tracking and supporting of the learning process and specific teaching, is particularly concerned about reusability and interoperability of learning design. To solve practical problems, it must be by means of the learning design tools whose development are based on IMS LD specification, and only have a good understanding and application of those tools can we fundamentally solve the problem.This article has four parts:The first part describes the research background of this article and related concepts, research significance and research methods.The second part describes the IMS LD specification and the IMS LD tools and their application status.The third part Summaries the majority of the current IMS LD tools, and carries out a detailed classification and comparative studies of IMS LD tools.The fourth part first using the IMS LD tools to design the case of learning unit based of the instructional design model and the steps of creating learning units, and comparison and analysis of the case; followed by qualitative and quantitative research methods on the application of IMS LD tools for analysis of the effects; and finally, pointed out that the existing problems in the application of existing tools, and some ways to address these issues.Research on the Comparison and applications of tools, can help teachers efficiently choose their own tools, and use tools to design good learning design, which can help improving the design efficiency of teachers and the purpose of the study results,and can also for more teachers to reuse design provides a learning platform...
