IT-based Instructional Design ( IID ) accompanied by the application and development of informational technology is a new type of instructional design. At present, the study of IID is rising in domestic and foreign. Learning activities Management System (LAMS) designed to support the learning activities in recent years has been introduced into China, it is designed to provide supporting tools and operating environment for IID. People began to use LAMS to conduct the instructional design and applied to the field of education and teaching.From the perspective of LAMS, it is inspected to the problem of IID. On the base of the status quo from home and abroad we have conducted in-depth research on how to use LAMS to carry out the IID by using the theory of activity, instructional design as a guide and applying the methods of literature analysis, investigation and design research. And take the experimental teaching of common curriculum of educational technology as an example to practice and explore practical way and model of learning activities as the center-based of IID in order to find a new idea to cultivate the capability of IID for the students in normal university or teachers.This paper is divided into six parts, each part of which reads as follows:(1) Introduction. It mainly demonstrates on the background, status quo, the content and methods of study.(2) Overview of LAMS. It introduces the system architecture and function.(3) The outline of IID. It mainly discusses the content, theoretical foundation, orientation of study, and discusses the relationship among the IID, learning activity, and LAMS from the reflections of theory to activities, from activities to LAMS.(4) The practice of LAMS-based IID. This section will apply LAMS to the experimental teaching of common curriculum of educational technology. This paper illustrates the process of practice in LAMS environments from the angle of the design of experimental teaching, the units of activities and implementation. Summing up a set of theoretical models and practice model through constant revision and perfection.(5) Summary and Outlook. This paper is mainly summing up the work of what has done, and the prospects for future research.
