The application situation for advanced process control is given both at home and abroad in this thesis, the APC demands are discussed for petrochemical process in detail, and to implement APC will improve environment and reduce energy consume in a heat devices such as heating furnace, which is of momentous current and far-reaching significance.A new modeling method is proposed based on a prior-information of process that is well known for engineers because of modeling difficulties in APC application, the modeling method is applied in a case of APC of lubrication oil heat furnace. Based on the model of the furnace an APC system and its engineering application design are given, and the design is implement requirements and steps are given, and tuning methods for the parameters of APC system are discussed, and indirect and direct efficiency which is produce by APC is analyzed. The results show that the model of APC is effective and APC system design is reasonable, and saving energy is 4% more than the old control system.Finally, we look forward to the future of APC application, and point that there are 3 problems that need to solve in APC application which are a talent people education and training, application market mechanism, and material reward and punishment mechanism.
